Frequently asked questions
Roof inspection — your questions
Do I need a permit to fly over my roof?
We take care of the entire regulatory side. The flight takes place above your property, with your consent, in compliance with European (EASA) and Belgian (BCAA/SkeyDrone) regulations. If your property is in controlled airspace, we check and request the necessary authorisations before the intervention.
What can be seen on the images?
Broken or displaced tiles or slates, moss and vegetation, visibly damaged flashing and lead-work, visible condition of chimneys, blocked gutters, visible cracks and marks. The high-definition photos let you zoom in on every detail; points of attention should then be looked at by a professional.
How long does an inspection take?
Between 30 minutes and an hour on site for a typical house, depending on the size and complexity of the roof. Images are delivered within 48 to 72 hours.
Do you fly in bad weather?
No: rain and strong wind make a safe flight and sharp images impossible. In case of unfavourable weather, the intervention is postponed free of charge to the next available date.
Does this replace a roofer?
No. Our inspection is a decision aid: it documents the visible condition of your roof without scaffolding or risk. The images then serve as a concrete basis for your roofer or expert to make a precise diagnosis and repair quote.
Scope of our services. The observations provided by DronePixel are based on elements that are visually observable during the inspection. They do not constitute a structural survey, an exhaustive technical diagnosis or an architect's assignment. Any anomaly requiring further investigation must be examined by a qualified professional.
